Bali Travel Requirements for US Citizens

Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned stay in Indonesia.

Visa: For short stays (up to 30 days, U.S. citizens can enter Indonesia without a visa under the Visa Exemption Facility. If you plan to stay longer, you’ll need to apply for a visa. Extensions for the Visa Exemption Facility are not possible, so if you wish to stay beyond 30 days, consider obtaining a Visa on Arrival (VOA) upon entry, which can be extended for an additional 30 days, or apply for a tourist visa in advance from an Indonesian embassy or consulate.

Proof of Departure: You might need to show proof of onward travel (a return ticket or a ticket to another destination when entering Indonesia.

Health Requirements: There are no mandatory vaccinations for entering Indonesia, but it’s advisable to be up to date on routine vaccines and consider vaccinations for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, and possibly rabies, depending on your activities and health risks.

Customs Regulations: Be aware of Indonesia’s customs regulations, including restrictions on bringing in certain items and declaring large amounts of cash.
